A New Lamb's Adventure with Dierdre, the Sheep Dog
A friend who lives over the mountain from me has a flock of Cotswold sheep and a wonderful French Briard sheep dog named Dierdre. Here are a series of pictures of her and one of the baby lambs, just a week old. Dierdre is gentle, friendly and a happy dog. But when it comes to watching her sheep, sometimes she doesn't understand a mother's protective instincts are just as strong as hers.

boots
There is a place in Phoenix, an oasis of sorts, a school, where the children tend to farm animals and every class has a garden plot. The children all have muck boots. Here the boots must hang on fence posts upside down as scorpions like to crawl into them when right side up and empty of little feet.
bird map
For a creative writing class, we are asked to make a 'map', this could be a map of anything, anywhere, we're encouraged to make a non-tradtional map. I make one of bird pictures I've photographed and attempt to describe where these birds take me to - lighter states of being. When I look at this, I move geographically, I move in time, but most importantly to me, my soul moves.

Cold autumn day, mists rising off the bend in the
river along the rapids.
